PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HOUSE OF SMALLS IS NOW CLOSED FOR EXHIBITIONS AND WILL PERMANENTLY RELOCATE TO EDINBURGH IN THE SUMMER OF 2024. 

Moral Fibre will now be the first show in the new venue (dates to be confirmed), and the link to submit work will be reinstated in due course.

Moral Fibre will be The House of Smalls eighth show in the main gallery space, and nineteenth in the dollhouse, and artists are invited to submit artwork for either or both spaces.

ARTISTS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF SELECTION SHORTLY AFTER DEADLINE

This is a call for textile artists and those using textiles within their work to submit artwork responding to the title theme. Submissions can also include film/video of current or previous textile artworks or installations etc.  Artists may remain anonymous.

ARTWORK MEASUREMENTS & SUBMISSION INFO


MAIN SPACE:

Wall artwork must be no larger than 2 metres on one edge WHEN FRAMED. Please note that all work must be ready to hang.

3D work should have a maximum footprint of circa 100cm x 40cm (for low units) and 30cm x 30cm (plinths). There is also space for floor-standing work - please contact me if your work is very big.

DOLLHOUSE:

Wall artwork must not exceed maximum measurements of 13cm x 13cm x 1cm (INCLUDING any mount/frame). 

3D work should have a maximum footprint of circa 8cm x 8cm x 15cm(H)

COSTS IF SELECTED (please note that this show runs for 3 weeks):

£35 per selected artwork for the large space

£15 per selected artwork for the dollhouse

As well as having a physical presence, all artwork will be featured on The House of Smalls social media and website. No commission is applied to sales under £150; and a 10% commission applied on individual sales of £150 and above. As with show fees, any money raised through commission goes towards gallery rent, overheads and upkeep.

IF ARTISTS ARE UNABLE TO COLLECT UNSOLD WORK AT THE END OF THE SHOW, THIS WILL BE RETURNED BY POST
